Terms of Use for Rumi - Learn Persian

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Rumi - Learn Persian mobile application (“App”) and website (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Rumi - Learn Persian is a language learning application designed to help users learn Persian (Farsi) through interactive lessons, vocabulary exercises, poetry, grammar guides, and cultural content.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

  • You may need to create an account to access certain features
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (or 16 in the EU)
  • Users under the minimum age require parental consent

3.2 Account Security

  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated systems (bots) to access the Service
  • Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Remove or modify any copyright notices or trademarks
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Upload malicious code or viruses

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Our Content

All content in the Rumi - Learn Persian App, including but not limited to:

  • Text, lessons, and educational materials
  • Audio recordings and pronunciations
  • Images, graphics, and illustrations
  • Software code and design
  • Trademarks and logos
  • Poetry translations and interpretations

…is owned by Splitfire AB or our licensors and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

5.2 License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Use the App for personal, non-commercial language learning purposes
  • Access and view content within the App
  • Download content for offline use where explicitly permitted

5.3 Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content
  • Use our content for commercial purposes without written permission
  • Extract or scrape content from the App for external use
  • Share premium content with non-subscribers

6. User-Generated Content

6.1 Your Content

If you submit content (e.g., comments, feedback, translations):

  • You retain ownership of your content
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the Service
  • You represent that you have the right to share such content
  • You agree not to submit inappropriate, offensive, or unlawful content

6.2 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

  • Review, modify, or remove user-generated content
  • Suspend or ban users who violate content guidelines

7. Subscriptions and Payments

7.1 Premium Features

  • Certain features may require a paid subscription
  • Subscription terms and pricing are described at the time of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • Prices are subject to change with notice

7.2 Refunds

  • Refund policies are governed by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) policies
  • Contact us for refund requests or billing issues

7.3 Free Trial

  • Free trials may be offered for new subscribers
  • You must cancel before the trial period ends to avoid charges
  • One free trial per user

8. Disclaimers and Warranties

8.1 “As Is” Service

The Rumi - Learn Persian Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or completeness of content

8.2 Learning Outcomes

  • We do not guarantee specific language proficiency results
  • Learning outcomes depend on individual effort and practice
  • Our content is for educational purposes only

8.3 No Professional Advice

The Service does not provide professional translation, interpretation, or linguistic certification services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Splitfire AB shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or use
  • Service interruptions or technical issues
  • Inaccuracies in content or translations
  • Damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10.1 Third-Party Content

The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content. We are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy or availability of third-party content
  • Third-party privacy practices
  • Products or services offered by third parties

10.2 App Stores

Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of service of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable.

11. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service
  • Update content and features
  • Change subscription pricing with notice
  • Terminate the Service with reasonable notice

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may delete your account and stop using the Service at any time.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
  • Abuse or misuse the Service
  • Fail to pay subscription fees

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the Service ends
  • We may delete your account data (subject to legal requirements)
  • Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination

13. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through:

  2. Mediation (if negotiation fails)
  3. Arbitration or courts in Sweden (as applicable)

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or collective proceedings.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Splitfire AB, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your user-generated content

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through:

  • In-app notifications
  • Email announcements
  • Website updates

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Splitfire AB regarding the Rumi - Learn Persian Service.

19. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
